HISTORY

The Company was established in 2005 by founding member John Rieger as a micro one man enterprise mainly concentrating on building and alteration works.

VDT Construction has with experience and motivation evolved into a small enterprise skilled in providing cost effective services to our clients in the building, alteration and renovation demand.

In 2008 VDT Construction decided to expand our horizon and opened a Civil Division within the company which allowed the company to expand and offering more services to our clients.

Since 2005 VDT Construction has successfully completed numerous Building and Civil projects in both the private and government sector, all of which have been completed on time and within budget which gives us a track record to be proud of.

VDT Construction is also registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) with a GB5 and CE4 rating.

The Company also enjoys membership with SAFCEC (South African Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors)

John Rieger - Chief Managing Member

Chief Managing and founding Member John Rieger was employed by Stocks Infra and WBHO (WBHO - Stocks Civils Buyout) as a Site Manager for 36 years and have gained experience in Township Development, Building Works, Concrete Works, Water and Sanitation Infrastructure and Road Construction. In 2005 John went on early retirement and started VDT Construction.

With John's diverse experience in the construction industry over the years has attributed to the company's success.

Tommy Rieger - Projects and Contracts Manager

In 2007 Tommy joined the Company as a Member. Tommy was also employed by Stocks and WBHO (WBHO - Stocks Civils Buyout) as a Site Agent for 6 years after which he moved over to Afriscan Construction (Now Sanyati Coastal) for a further 4 years as a Site Agent. Tommy gained experience in Water and Sanitation Infrastructure and Supply, Concrete Works and Developments.
